Job Introduction 
We are looking for a researcher/producer to join the Talking Business Africa team, working in our Johannesburg office. 

You will be working on the newly recommissioned monthly programme, researching and helping with the setting up of interviews and stories focusing on countries and sectors across the continent. You will also be expected to spend some of your time helping with research, logistics and production for the ‘In Business Africa’ Programme. 

Main Responsibilities 
The successful candidates will be expected to have the experience and expertise to set up stories, interviews and filming opportunities for Talking Business Africa across the continent. You will research and set up innovative content to tell stories in creative and engaging ways, creating impact that works for TV outlets and for social media and digital. 

You will be expected to be fully engaged in the research, production and delivery of the programme. You will be willing to work flexibly and work closely with the Commissions team in London and the ‘In Business Africa’ team. You will work as part of a team responsible to the Business Commissions Editor. 

The Ideal Candidate 
The successful candidate will be comfortable working on Business and Economics stories and be imaginative and creative in their approach. 

They will have the ability, skills and experience to turn ideas in to concrete plans that produce compelling, innovative content. You will need a good knowledge of our editorial agenda, experience of setting up and co-ordinating filming and the ability to respond to changing priorities as the project evolves. 

Candidates should have the ability to write for online and be familiar with BBC digital production systems. They should enjoy working under pressure and bring plenty of story, contributor and production ideas to the role.
